This Privacy Policy explains how SG Shaikh Consultant ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, stores and shares information when you use our website, our client portal or engage us for accounting and compliance services.

1. Information we collect

  • Information you give us — your name, email, phone number, address, business details, financial documents, statutory IDs (PAN, GSTIN, TAN, Aadhaar where required) and any other information you upload to our portal or send by email/messaging.
  • Automatic information — IP address, device type, browser type, pages visited, and standard analytics events. Used only to operate and improve the site.
  • From third parties — government portals (GST, income-tax, MCA) where we file or fetch data on your written authorisation.

2. How we use your information

  • To deliver the accounting, tax and compliance services you have engaged us for.
  • To prepare and submit statutory returns on your behalf where authorised.
  • To respond to your queries and provide ongoing support.
  • To send you compliance reminders and acknowledgements.
  • To meet our own legal, regulatory and audit obligations as a professional firm.

3. How we protect your information

Files are stored on access-controlled servers. Access is role-based and audit-logged. Personal data is transmitted over TLS. We sign a written non-disclosure agreement at the start of every engagement. Staff handling client files are bound by professional confidentiality obligations.

4. Sharing your information

We do not sell your information. We share it only with:

  • Government departments and statutory portals where required to file returns or respond to notices.
  • Service providers (e.g. cloud hosting) that operate under written confidentiality terms.
  • Courts, regulators or law-enforcement where required by law.

5. Retention

Client files and statutory documents are retained for at least 8 years from the end of the relevant assessment year, in line with the Income-tax Act and other applicable retention requirements. Marketing-form submissions are retained for up to 24 months.

6. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, subject to our statutory retention obligations. Email hello@sgshaikhconsultant.com with the subject line "Privacy request".

7. Cookies

We use a minimal set of essential cookies to keep you signed in to the client portal and to remember basic preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on this website.
